Messi is reportedly reluctant to sign a contract extension with Barcelona

- Lionel Messi is reluctant to extend his stay at Barcelona - The Argentine could be on the verge of rejoining former manager Pep Guardiola at Man City - Messi and Gaurdiola worked for three seasons and they won numerous trophies together Lionel Messi could be on his way to the blue side of Manchester as his contract stand off with Barcelona continues. Messi's contract situation means he could sign a pre-contract with City in January and join the club in July ahead of next season, and there are reports that officials from the Etihad have met with the player's representatives on several occasions. A deal for Messi to make the switch would allegedly involve a £40million signing-on fee and wages of £500,000-a-week over the course of a five-year contract.
